Tom Russell

A veteran giant of the American folk scene, singer-songwriter Russell is a compelling, cowby campfire-style storyteller and here performs from his latest (twenty-sixth) album, 'Mesabi' (Shout!), of which the narrative thread connects the border town of Jiminez, Mexico to LA, winding through landscapes populated by figures such as tragic Disney star Jimmy Driscoll and character atcor Sterling Hayden. Small wonder the likes of Lucinda Williams and Van Dyke Parks agreed to assisst him – Tom Russell is a star.
