Robust, exciting tenor and soprano saxophonist Themen leads his quartet for some no-nonsense hard bop and funky swing ahead of Trio, lead by Ronnie Scott's long-time piano partner John Critchinson, who plays high caliber mainstream jazz with lyrical guitarist Dave Cliff and fine bassist Alec Dankworth.
