Workshop 3: Composing and Text

Drawing inspiration from several of the commissions that involve libretti, a session to examine ways in which composers today can work with text, and what a contemporary musical language can express in terms of emphasising or providing a counterpoint to a text-based narrative. (Curated by Brunel University's Institute of Composing, the workshop will also feature composers Emily Howard and Conor Mitchell.)
