London is about to welcome a new neon-lit playground chock-a-block with gripping arcade games including real-life Pac-Man, neon karting and alien battles. The venue is called Arcade Arena and it’ll open on Saturday September 5.
The first Arcade Arena game Alien Invasion sees players join the Cosmic Cadets to save the universe from extraterrestrial enemies. The game’s inventors say it will be ‘the UK’s first ever immersive drone experience’.
Another attraction called Chaos Karts features electric karts and screens projected with ever-changing scenes. The idea is that you feel like you’re motoring at high speed through an ever-changing world.
The Pac-Man Live Experience is the third game in the lineup. You’ll be tasked to do like Pac-Man and collect power, avoid ghosts and race around a lit-up maze – all while trying to beat the clock.
If the name Arcade Arena sounds familiar, it’s probably because there’s already one in Manchester. The new London venue will be an expanded version, and the only place you’ll be able to fight UFOs in Alien Invasion. The venue also has a bar serving soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks, plus a dining area to relax between games.
Tickets start from £30. Arcade Arena opens next month at 26 Lambeth High Street, SE1 7SJ.
