St Vincent will swap her guitar for a bottle of bubbly next month when she hosts a pop-up champagne bar in Covent Garden.
The indie musician also known as Annie Clark has teamed up with Veuve Clicquot to ‘provide the creative vision’ for the bar, which is billed as ‘part speakeasy, part sensory space’ and a ‘social antidote to the somewhat turbulent times we’re living in’.
Frankly, we’re already there in spirit(s).
Anyway, the bar is named Souvenir because St Vincent ‘felt that anyone walking into the bar should be immediately transported into another world, a place where authentic connection and creating memories is central to the souvenir of the bar’, and it’s open for two days only in late November.
Will you get to clink champagne flutes with St V herself? Perhaps not, but the possibility is always there, and the drinks are bound to sparkle impeccably either way. Bottoms up!
Souvenir will open its doors from Nov 22-23 at 6a Langley St, WC2H 9JA.
