Ever felt like a doughnut would make the prospect of lifelong monogamy seem sweeter? If so, this one’s for you. From Monday February 12 Londoners will be able to order an engagement ring made out of a doughnut via Deliveroo. Which comes complete with a sparkly edible strawberry diamond. Really. Deliveroo are saying the design is inspired by Meghan Markle’s engagement ring – which is quite the shameless publicity ploy – but at this emotionally fragile time of year we’re willing to suspend our disbelief. For £9.50, you too can be a princess.
Doughnuts come in pairs, but there’s only one diamond per order (???!) and they’re made by Doughnut Time, who we rate. Also, we’ve inquired, and the doughnuts sadly don’t arrive in that engagement ring box. It’s a prop.
