If you’ve ever been cruising down the street on two wheels, wind blowing through your hair, and thought to yourself ‘what would this feel like if I was starkers?’, well, we have just the event for you.

Each June, hundreds of keen cyclists go commando across London for the World Naked Bike Ride, and this year will be no exception. The event, which has been going since 2004, sees more than 1,000 riders take their kit off to protest against the global dependency on oil, curb car culture and obtain real rights for cyclists. The organisers say the ride also demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on city streets and celebrates body freedom.

Last year, the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) saw over 1,200 Londoners take part. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 event.

The London Naked Bike Ride 2026 date

In a departure from tradition, the 2025 edition of the World Naked Bike Ride is happening in London on Sunday, June 14. Increased traffic, events, road closures, diversions, protests and the annual Trooping of the Colour have made the usual Saturday date increasingly tricky in recent years, so the event’s organisers have agreed to trade places with WNBR Brighton, which will now be taking place on June 13.

As well as shifting to Sunday, start times for WNBR London 2026 are also moving half an hour earlier than in previous years – more on that below.

London Naked Bike Ride 2026 route

Riders heading into town from all nine of the starting points will merge into one group from Westminster Bridge onwards.

Organisers of the London ride say this year’s route will avoid Hyde Park and Victoria Park, as they do not have permission to ride through these locations. According to the Standard, Tower Hamlets officials have warned the organisers to avoid Victoria Park for safety reasons. To help ensure the safety of both cyclists and the general public, the London Naked Bike Ride employs its own security team.

Do I need to sign up?

Nope, taking part in WNBR London is free. The organisers do advise anyone interested in taking part to register on Facebook so they can work out how many people to expect and warn riders of any changes, but it’s not mandatory. You just need to be in the right place at the right time with a bike to ride… and your kit off, of course.

When does the event finish?

Finishing times vary from year to year depending on how busy the event gets, but riders can expect to dismount by between 5pm and 5.30pm.

There’s also an afterparty for anyone whose legs haven’t turned to jelly by the end of the cycle. This year, it will take place at The Steel Yard under Cannon Street Station from 6pm. Expect food, drink, socialising and live entertainment until 11pm. In keeping with WNBR norms, it will be clothing-optional. Unlike the daytime cycle, this event is ticketed – secure your spot on the WNBR website here.
