You can’t get much for £2.50 these days. Half a pint. A single Oyster fare within Zone 1. Distinctly less than 250 penny sweets. But in the spirit of the good old days, your dad’s favourite porkpie-hat-wearing ska types Madness are offering tickets for their fortieth-anniversary show at Camden’s Electric Ballroom next month for exactly that – the same door price, in fact, as their first show at the venue back in 1979.

Madness are turning the Ballroom into their own personal house of fun on Sunday November 17, with the bargain show ahead of three sold-out dates at the Roundhouse in December. So if you want to don your baggy trousers and go one step beyond Camden Town station (it really is just a stone’s throw away), then this is your only chance.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday November 1. You’d be mad to miss it.
