Forget London's big gigs next year – Taylor Swift, The Cure, Bjork, Eminem... the real highlight of the season is set to come in an altogether fuzzier package.

Bringing their joyous stage show to the UK for the first time ever, The Muppets have just announced that they will be hitting The O2 for three performances (including a Saturday matinee) across July 13th and 14th.

It's the first time the furry fellowship have ever performed a show outside the States. You can expect a host of sketches, songs and classic throwbacks from all your animal favourites – that’s Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Gonzo, Stadler and Waldorf and co, natch.

And as for the special guests promised too? Well, the original TV programme featured appearances from everyone from Elton John to Spike Milligan to Brooke Shields.

So don’t go giving up on that dream of a Liam Gallagher cameo just yet.

Tickets for The Muppets Take The O2 are available here from Wednesday 28th February.
