As we established with last month’s guide update, London is absolutely chockablock with incredible Indian and South Asian restaurants. Whether you’re talking banging street food (hello, Shree Krishna Vada Pav) or something a little more upmarket (how do you do, Trishna), you’re never far from somewhere special. The old-school takeaway spot on your corner (shout out to Mint Leaf Curry House on the Roundway in Tottenham) is always an excellent choice too.
Now Trèsind, a three-Michelin-starred gaff that started out in Dubai in 2014 before expanding to Mumbai in 2018, is due to open right here in the capital.
Forget your usual order: this is a ‘modernist Indian dining experience’ with its sights set on Mayfair (13-14 Hanover Street, to be precise). Its name combines the French word très (‘very’) with Ind (‘Indian’), indicating the brand’s mission to – as per a statement – ‘challenge global perceptions of Indian cuisine and elevate it within the fine-dining world’.
Signature dishes at the Dubai destination include the mouthwatering A5 wagyu striploin pathar kebab and beluga caviar. A tasting menu can set you back around £170 before drinks – which is obviously fairly expensive, but not totally off the scale when you consider that the place has three Michelin stars.
In any case, Trèsind’s head honchos seem pretty excited about the move to the Big Smoke. Suyash Nath, CEO of the Dubai-based hospitality group Passion F&B UK & US and son of Trèsind founder Bhupender Nath, said: ‘Trèsind began in Dubai in 2014 as my father’s passion project – a modern interpretation of Indian cuisine rooted in creativity and hospitality.
‘Over the years it has grown into a global story, and bringing it to London feels like a natural next chapter. At Trèsind London, we will begin with tasting menus only, inviting guests to experience a carefully curated journey that reimagines Indian cuisine through Chef Himanshu’s progressive lens.’
So, when can we expect to enjoy the good life at this most modern of Indian restaurants? There’s no set date yet, but the short answer is ‘very soon’: Trèsind is trailing its opening in ‘spring 2026’.
The place is already looking very swish, with the brand explaining: ‘Trèsind Mayfair’s design philosophy mirrors that of its cuisine: an exploration of India through a contemporary lens. Every element of the space has been thoughtfully curated to reflect this vision, from bespoke finishes to carefully selected artworks that celebrate Indian heritage while embracing modern craftsmanship. The interiors strike a deliberate balance between tradition and innovation, harmonising cultural references with clean, contemporary design.’
With a private dining space and another private room for ‘curated tastings, special events and immersive culinary moments’, Trèsind looks ready to blow our minds (and tastebuds).
