1. Anyone attempting Dry January or just trying to cut back on the booze should head to Islington boozer Little Bat, which has teamed up with the non-alcoholic spirit Seedlip to offer free tastings of teetotal concoctions. The Dry January tasting takes place from 7:30pm.

2. Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Richard Hell: photographer Julia Gorton snapped them all in ’70s New York, and her photos from the era go on show at Dalston cocktail bar Untitled all this month. The bar opens at 6pm and entry to the exhibition is free.

3. Forget mindfulness, raving may be the answer to discovering your inner self. Join 'The Psychology of Raving' - a talk with Dr Beate Peter, discussing how dancing can help us access our collective unconscious. Listen at O'Neill's on Wardour Street from 7pm. Entry is £12.
