Formerly the Pround Embankment cabaret bar, this performance space has been reappropriated at the Emerald Theatre, which will play host to Dita von Teese’s play Diamonds and Dust during the summer of 2025.
Just when you thought there were no new possible permutations of Shakespeare’s supernatural revenge tragedy, then here comes a drag version of Macbeth with Drag Race UK winners Ginger Johnson and Kyran Thrax as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Produced by drag legends TuckShop and directed by its creative director Chris Clegg, the show is set in a dystopian, homophobic Soho. It is very unclear at this stage if we’re getting the actual text of Macbeth or just a version of the plot with modern language (how is Ginger Johnson’s blank verse?). But it looks like it should be a laugh either way.
