This popular central London boozer is a good place to drink and an even better place to party. The venue hosts numerous club nights and nightlife events that are focused firmly on full-fat fun, from quirky karaoke, indie nights and live music to comedy, awards shows and even storytelling.
And if you need sustenance? There's a food menu influenced by the USA. That means wings, burgers, a range of mac 'n' cheese, steamed buns with black treacle bacon belly and ancho relish, oak-smoked brisket chunks and nachos, served with all the trimmings.
Whether you're after a quick drink after a hectic day's shopping on Oxford Street, drinks and food to catch up with friends and colleagues, or a completely private party, the Phoenix is here to be your 'central London local'. Expect a friendly welcome, great Burgers and a wide range of craft beers on offer, alongside an extensive drinks range + a great atmosphere from lunch right through to late-night.
And there's the added bonus of a completely versatile events space available for private hire and an events program jam-packed full of alternative nightlife.

I’m a regular at some club nights at the Phoenix - ‘Age Against The Machine’ & ‘Great Big Kiss’ are on top of my favourites list. The atmosphere at The Phoenix is always amazing, staff is super friendly and you can get some awesome craft beer at the bar. Most importantly, the crowd that comes along to these events is lovely. TOP PUB/CLUB venue in London!!!
I'm a regular at 'Old Rope' as they always have great comedians trying new material. I also love the 'What Ever Happened' club night - great music and atmosphere. The staff are always chirpy and very friendly, even when it's really busy you get served quickly and with a smile. I haven't eaten here yet but the burgers do look epic! They have an amazing beer range too!
I came here to the All My Friends Club Night after hearing about it on Radio X. So much fun! The Italian girl working was crazy and hilarious - best moves I've seen behind the bar. Her and the other girl working (Jo I think?) were so friendly, even when the bar was busy.
We often end up here on Friday nights and it''s fast becoming our favourite stop for work drinks. It's busy but you can get served qjickly, there's a great atmosphere and it's open late! On a few occasions we've ended up downstairs, dancing through to the early hours, after what was meant to be 'just a couple' of quick drinks.
I totally forgot about this place! Used to come here (many) years back when working around the corner at Top Man. It's kinda changed but has kept it's charm. Looks a bit dated from outside, and even feels a bit of a polished dive bar inside; but there's an undeniable warmth to the place, helped along by the young attractive hipster staff that actually remember how to have a personality and smile (a rarity in the West End!).
I somehow ended up in the basement and on the dancefloor at 1am, and even more surprisingly did not feel old! My friends tell me they had a marvellous selection of beers too - but that not being my thing I made do with the cooking wine which (obviously) did the job.
Not in these parts too often these days, and really don't get out much - so thanks for making the 2 day hangover worthwhile.
Love it! Great atmosphere in the pub upstairs, wide range of beers and good food. Plus loads of great events in the venue. From Feeling Gloomy's David Bowie and Pulp specials and their new Indie, Rock night 'All My Friends' to comedy nights with Rich Hall, Frankie Boyle and lots more. Best place to go if you're in Central.
Finding a good pub near Oxford Street is harder than it seems. Luckily, there's the Phoenix. Tucked behind the back of John Lewis, it's always got happy folk having an after work drink and a good atmosphere.
As you can expect, it's pricey for what it is. Sure, it's a nice place, but the girls loos are shoddy and the drinks aren't the most diverse. But it's a reliable place to take friends or dates and it's never done me wrong.
If it seems a little busy, stick with it. The crowd at the Phoenix are a "quick pint" kind of crew. A table will open up soon enough.
Nice pub around the back of Oxford Street, particularly good for a post-shopping cool down; Eg. "I can't believe I tried on a little under 40 pairs of Chelsea boots today, and I still think I should've bought the first pair" type thing...
The craft cocktails are great, a fiver if you get them between 4 and 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 'Dusk' is really good - Vodka, jasmine tea and white peach = yummy!
Amazing quiz nights, even have their own resident rapper to sing out mystery pop star biographies. Good night all in all.
