Principal players of Aurora Orchestra perform leading British composer Thomas Adès’s mysterious string quartet ‘The Four Quarters’, whose four movements chart the passing of time from ‘Nightfall’ to ‘The Twenty-Fifth Hour’. Also played is Ravel’s miniature harp concerto, ‘Introduction and Allegro’, and Mozart’s expansive Serenade No 10 for 13 wind instruments (‘Gran Partita’).
