In their second Proms appearance together, Donald Runnicles and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra give a concert performance of Wagner's 'Tannhäuser'. Robert Dean Smith sings the role of the troubadour who tires of Venus’s charms and yearns for spiritual redemption. Elisabeth is the woman who loves him, Wolfram the man who loves her.

(Note: there are three Proms Plus events at the Royal College of Music.

At 11.30am there is Proms Plus Storytime, a new event for families with children aged between 3 and 7. Presenter Hannah Conway leads the audience through a musical journey based on Jon Klassen’s 'I Want My Hat Back', with the Britten Sinfonia on hand to bring the story to life through music. There is a chance to join in and sing along, but no prior musical experience is necessary.

At 2pm there is a Proms Plus Sing event when you can sing extracts from 'Tannhäuser' with Mary King. Sign up from Monday 10 June 2013.

Then, at 4.15pm, there is a Proms Plus Intro to Wagner's 'Tannhäuser' with James Jolly.
