Time Out says

One of the first important musical events to take place only days after Hitler's appointment as Chancellor of Germany was the Reichs Brahms Fest in Hamburg. This study day will explore the political machinations which surrounded the Reichs Brahms Fest, as well as the subsequent tortuous attempts to 'Nazify' Brahms by detaching him from Jewish association. Speakers include Michael Musgrave (Juilliard School of Music) and Erik Levi (Royal Holloway, University of London).
