Concerto for Orchestra
© Clive Barda
The Philharmonia Orchestra under Esa-Pekka Salonen plays what is probably Bartók's best-known work, his Concerto for Orchestra, a showpiece that requires staggering virtuosity from the entire orchestra. Also on the programme – Kodály's 'Dances of Galánta'; and Bartók's lyrical Violin Concerto No 2 (featuring soloist Christian Tetzlaff).
