The piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque and their band – Nicola Tescari, keyboard, David Chalmin, electric guitar, Massimo Pupillo, bass guitar, Raphaël Séguinier, percussion (joined for 'In C' by cellist Matthew Barley and singers Olivia Chaney and Orlanda Bryars) – play a selection of minimalist works across three nights. Terry Riley's 'Mescalin Mix' (1961) for tape; John Cage's 'Experiences No 1' (1945) for two pianos; Colin McPhee's Balinese Ceremonial Music (1934) for two pianos; La Monte Young's 'Arabic Numeral [Any Integer] for HF' (1960) for soloist; Steve Reich's 'It's Gonna Rain' (1965) for tape; 'Phase' (1967) for two pianos; Terry Riley's 'In C' (1964)* for any ensemble. Plus, the world premiere of new works by Nicola Tescari and Massimo Pupillo; and a selection of piano music by Erik Satie, Terry Jennings and William Duckworth.
