The pianist Dmitri Alexeev and soprano Katrina Sheppeard showcase Liszt's loving relationship with vocal music and the heady heights of virtuosity that it inspired. Liszt's Transcriptions of Wagner Operas for piano solo: 'The Pilgrim's Chorus', Recitative and Romance Evening Star ('Tannhäuser'); 'Isolde's Liebestod' ('Tristan und Isolde'); 'Valhalla', ('Der Ring des Niebelungen'). Plus, 'Wesendoncklieder' by Richard Wagner; and Liszt's transcriptions of songs for piano solo: Schubert's 'Der Wanderer'; Schumann's 'Frühlingsnacht'; Chopin's 'Meine Freuden'; 'Die Heimkehr'; 'Das Ringlein'; and 'Bacchanal'.
