The BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jirí Belohlávek, with cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, plays Dvorák's Cello Concerto in B minor; and Smetana's 'Má Vlast'. (Note: at 5.45pm there is a Proms Plus event at the Royal College of Music. Music critic and Professor of English Peggy Reynolds is joined by a cellist from the BBC Symphony Orchestra to explore the cello's literary life across the ages – and to perform its fictional incarnations.)
