Schoenberg's mighty 'Gurrelieder' is performed by the BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Chorus, Crouch End Festival Chorus, New London Chamber Choir and BBC Symphony Orchestra, with soprano Angela Denoke, tenor Simon O'Neill (Waldemar), mezzo-soprano Katarina Karnéus (Wood-Dove), tenor Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts (Klaus the Fool), bass-baritone Neal Davies (Peasant) and speaker Wolfgang Schöne. Jukka-Pekka Saraste conducts. (Note: at 6.15pm there is a Proms Plus event at the Royal College of Music. Jirí Belohlávek has withdrawn for health reasons.)
