David Dolan is one of the pioneers of improvisation pedagogy and practice in classical music. David is the founder and director of the Centre for Creative Performance and Classical Improvisation at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Dolan presents both an afternoon session, open to young musicians over ten years old, and an evening session featuring some of his former pupils who are now professional performers – the Prima Volta trio, who have taken on the ethos of classical improvisation, as well as a short workshop and performance.
