In Tune's Schubert Salon

As 'The Spirit of Schubert', Radio 3's celebration of the music and the man which includes 200 hours of broadcasting and over a thousand performances, kicks off with the In Tune Schubert Salon at Kings Place. An all-star cast is headed by Schubert authority and pianist Graham Johnson, with Ailish Tynan (soprano), Jennifer Johnston (mezzo soprano), Robin Tristschler (tenor) and Marcus Farnsworth (baritone). Also performing is the Doric Quartet and students from the Royal College of Music who'll be exploring movements of Schubert's Octet and the Rosamunde Quartet. Suzy Klein presents the show and previews some of the highlights of Radio 3's series. (Note: arrive early and enjoy a free foyer performance of the Schubert Octet by students from the Royal College of Music; 3pm.)
