The Kreutzer Quartet attends the oldest extant musical hall in the country to play, with guests: cellistJessica Hayes, double bassist Rachel Meerloo, violist Diana Mathews and violinist Midori Komachi. Mendelssohn's early Concerto for Violin and Strings in D minor (unplayed original version); a new work from young composer Mihailo Trandafilovski (a violinist in the Kreutzer Quartet); and Mendelssohn's Octet. (To complete this marriage of sight and sound, the artist Joanna Jones is painting a large-scale work as a backdrop to be displayed with the performers. This is the last classical concert of the year in Wilton's historic auditorium before it closes for urgent repairs.)
