Prizewinners at the 2007 York International Early Music Young Artists Competition, vocal and instrumental ensemble, Le Jardin Secret makes its Festival debut with a programme reflecting a crucial time in the development of French vocal expression. In arias and cantatas by Lully, Charpentier, Rameau, Mouret and Camapra, as well as instrumtnal works by De Visée and Marais, they find and elegance, refinement, yearning and languor to reflect the sweet breath of nature.
