Florilegium directed by flautist Ashley Solomon, with Reiko Ichise, viola da gamba, and Terence Charlston, harpsichord.
Eighteenth-century French society loved nothing better than to imagine the simple pleasures of the countryside, an obsession which was reflected even in the chamber music of the time, especially when it involved the flute. In their first appearance at the Festival since 1995 one of the UK's most established chamber ensembles explores this sun-dappled repertoire in music by Marin Marais, Jacque Morel, François Couperin, Jean-Féry Rebel, Michel Blavet and Jean-Philippe Rameau.
