At 12.30pm the adventurous cellist Matthew Barley is joined by Adrian Freedman for a concert of rare beauty. The timeless, haunting voice of the shakuhachi and the warm humanity of the cello will create moments of profound stillness. Then, at 1.45pm, Barley collaborates with jazz pianist Julian Joseph as they explore the music of Brazil. Featuring works by some of the greatest Brazilian songwriters, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges and Danilo Caymmi.
