Met Opera Live in HD returns to the Barbican for the 2012-13 season, featuring 12 new transmissions streamed live via satellite in high definition from The Metropolitan Opera, New York.

Anna Netrebko returns to open this season in her Met role debut as the beautiful landowner Adina in Donizetti's comic gem 'L'Elisir d'Amore'. Directed by Bartlett Sher and conducted by Maurizio Benini, it is an opera that combines stunning music with great humour.

(The upcoming season has an impressive line up including a new production of Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera (8 Dec 12) directed by David Alden, the Met premiere of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda (19 Jan 13) starring Joyce DiDonato in the title role and Handel's Giulio Cesare (27 Apr 13) starring Natalie Dessay as Cleopatra.)
