Met Opera Live in HD returns to the Barbican for the 2012-13 season, featuring 12 new transmissions streamed live via satellite in high definition from The Metropolitan Opera, New York.
In Verdi's towering masterpiece 'Otello', based on Shakespeare's tragedy, Semyon Bychkov conducts an extraordinary cast led by Johan Botha in the title role of the jealous Moor of Venice, opposite Renée Fleming in one of her greatest roles, Otello's innocent wife Desdemona. Rounding out the cast are Falk Strückmann and Michael Fabian.
