Rites: Live performance with 3D visuals

Digital artist Klaus Obermaier and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Ilan Volkov create a twenty-first-century realisation of Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring', with a single dancer Julia Mach performing on stage while the audience wears 3D glasses. Also on the programme – Varèse's 'Tuning Up' (sketch, completed by Chou Wen-chung) and Ligeti's 'Lontano'.(Note: two performances, at 7pm and 9pm. Each performance lasts approximately 45 minutes and there is no interval. Part of Ether festival.)
