Setting words by doomed soldier-poet Wilfred Owen, Britten’s ‘War Requiem’ is a fitting commemoration for Remembrance Sunday on the centenary of the start of WWI. It is performed by the Royal Choral Society, Trinity Boys Choir and London Philharmonic under Richard Cooke, with soprano Ekaterina Scherbachenko, tenor Stephan Rügamer and bass-baritone Bryn Terfel.
