The BBC Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the BBC Symphony Chorus to present Schnittke's 'Faust Cantata', a blend of tango, cabaret, rock gig, medieval incantation, grand opera and bawdy theatre. The bill also features Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 1 in G minor ('Winter Daydreams'). Vassily Sinaisky conducts and is joined for this performance of the 'Faust' Cantata by the BBC Symphony Chorus and soloists Susan Bickley, David Hansen, Robert Murray and Mark Stone. (Note: ticket holders are also admitted to a pre-concert talk in Cinema 3 at 6pm. Places are limited for this talk so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. The concert is part of BBC Family Music Intro, an introduction to concert-going for families. Call the Box Office for details.)
