Seminal Birtwistle

Academy Manson Ensemble under Elgar Howarth performs a concert of landmark pieces by Sir Harrison Birtwistle, including the seminal work 'Tragoedia', alongside a new work by Academy student David Coonan.

Harrison Birtwistle's 'Fantasia upon all the Notes'; 'Verses for Ensembles'; David Coonan's 'pitbull tapdances on bloodied linoleum '(world premiere); Birtwistle's 'Tragoedia'; and 'Carmen arcadiae mechanicae perpetuum'.
