Berlioz's final and grandest work, 'Les Troyens', is broadcast Live in HD to over 1,900 theatres in 64 countries. Based on Virgil's Aeneid, the majesty and humanity of Berlioz's epic is portrayed by Deborah Voigt as the tragic prophetess Cassandra, and Marcello Giordani in the principal role of the hero Aeneas, with Susan Graham making her Met role debut as Dido, and Scottish-born mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill in the role of Anna.
Fabio Luisi conducts; this is director Francesca Zambello's celebrated 2003 production.
