A brand new production of Tchaikovsky's 'The Queen of Spades' directed by David Alden and conducted by Edward Gardner. The piece is set in the 18th century in St Petersburg where a beautiful countess bewitches a host of young men. This will be Gardner's final performances as ENO's music director. Peter Bronder makes his role debut as Hermann and Giselle Allen as Lisa.
