Daniel Slater directs a concert performance of Britten's landmark opera about an ostracised fisherman on the North Sea coast. With a cast including Stuart Skelton (Peter Grimes), Pamela Armstrong (Ellen Orford), Alan Opie (Balstrode), Pamela Helen Stephen (Auntie), Malin Christensson (Niece 1), Claire Ormshaw (Niece 2), Michael Colvin (Bob Boles), Brindley Sherratt (Swallow), Jean Rigby (Mrs Sedley), Mark Stone (Ned Keene), Brian Galliford (Rev Adams) and Jonathan Veira (Hobson).
Vladimir Jurowski conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Voices.
(Note: at 2pm and 4pm, there are concert performances of Britten's setting of the Chester Miracle play, 'Noye's Fludde', with a cast of professionals, young people from local communities and even the audience.)
