Tugan Sokhiev conducts the Philharmonia orchestra in an all-Russian evening, with Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan. Alexander Borodin's Polovtsian Dances from his most famous opera 'Prince Igor' - a tale based on a medieval epic; Shostakovich's sad and searching Violin Concerto No 1; and Tchaikovsky's equally troubled, although more dramatically expressive Symphony No 4.
