The Philharmonia Orchestra under Yuri Temirkanov, with pianist Kirill Gerstein, presents an all-Russian programme. Lyadov's 'Kikimora' – music that originally formed part of the unfinished opera 'Zoryushka', which tells the tale of a strange creature brought up in the mountains by a sorceress whose head is as small as a thimble and whose body is as thin as a straw. Rachmaninov's much-loved Piano Concerto No 2 and Symphonic Dances complete the bill.
