Schwitters in Britain
Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.
The nihilistic destructiveness at the heart of the Dadaist momevement is perfectly embodied in the work of Kurt Schwitters, a German artist and poet who fled to Britain to escape Nazi persecution in 1940. The exhibition features prime examples of his 'Merz' approach to collage, where any material could be imbued with artistic potential.
