Time Out says

Everything at this North End Road eaterie – which has long been championing fresh ingredients – is 100% vegan.

Dishes here range from bean and tofu pancakes, raw asparagus spears and a spinach and avocado salad to vegan roasts, stroganoff made with seitan and burgers made with organic tofu and veggie mince, and served with oven baked chips and homemade ketchup. Desserts include tofu cheesecakes, raw chocolate tortes and vegan ice cream.

Keep an eye out for a good-value all-you-can-eat lunchtime buffet, too.

222 is a great place for delicious vegan vegetarian food. I have tried many different restaurants in the UK and abroad, but 222 remains in the top range of my list.

Extremely sassy and rude waitress coupled with bland and overpriced food. The burger was tasteless and the chips were undercooked large chunks of potato. The vegan mayo portion was tiny and when asked for more they charged us £3. The waitress was extremely impatient which made me scared to ask for help. Just a bad experience overall, luckily i was with a good crowd of people who could laugh off the awkward sassyness given by the staff.

I'm a meat eater but I love the all you can eat buffet they offer at lunchtime - the dishes are delicious. However they keep putting the prices up all the time and it’s just too expensive for what it is now. Also they put waaaay too much salt into the dishes to flavour them up –you feel thirsty all day afterwards.

This is an all vegan restaurant not far from West Kensington / West Brompton stations. From the outside it looks like a cafe but it's not quite so basic on the inside although seating is pretty informal. Our table of 5 we're sat on a long table sharing with other small groups. Other tables in the restaurant were predominantly for 2. The menu is pretty extensive and on entering the restaurant the smell of the food hits you - it is soooo good, I didn't expect to get hungry just on entry alone! We were a party of 1 vegan, 1 veggie, 1 pescatarian and 2 meat eaters and we all loved it. We shared the garlic bread (gorgeous), artichokes, plantain, pitta and dips to start. The avocado dip is mixed with a basil pesto and is such a great combination - the pimento dip is equally moorish! We were all really happy with our mains, the seitan stroganoff was a popular choice and disappeared very quickly! The service wasn't fantastic, a little slow and frantic and we didn't get our jug of tap water until we asked for a fourth time. However, the food was really interesting and genuinely very tasty, we all tried a bit of each other's and have sworn to come back to try more. Oh, and the desserts are delicious and feel almost guilt free!! The chocolate gateaux with 'vanilla dessert' is beautiful - it needs to be shared though due to sheer richness! 'Vanilla dessert' is vegan custard and it's not far off the real thing, very satisfying!

One place I should definitely go more to. We've actually never visited the buffet but went there for a dinner.

We were 5 people and we all, very much enjoyed it. The food was fresh, tasty. Staff were friendly even though it was busy to the fullest.

It's nice to have a vegan restaurant in that area, and it's super close to the 100% vegan shop GreenBay.

222 Veggie Vegan has a great  lunch buffet - as someone who used to live nearby and visit regularly, I can't rave about this place enough - good value and such good food. Although most buffet restaurants offer an abundance of deep fat fried things, this one really delivers - the food tastes amazing and always looks so colourful & varied. I also brought several colleagues from work here once, none of whom are veggie or vegan - and they all loved it. At night, they offer an a la carte menu - based on the the lunchtime buffet, I'll have to return one day to sample the night-time fare.

The food is so, so good that you actually forget they are NOT using any dairy in them. For us cheese lovers, this is almost a miracle. Amazing food cooked with love by amazing people

Solid vegan food at this place. I've been here once before, when I had some sort of pumpkin dish and was bowled over. This time around, on Sunday night, whilst not l the dishes were phenomenal, they were still very good. I got the raw avocado soup which was incredibly creamy and a large portion. The flavour of cashew is apparent in the soup and is a perfect complement to the avo. I also got the bean and tofu pancakes (black-eyed beans and tofu stuffed in two wholemeal wraps with a vegan cream sauce). These were ok... didn't blow me away. The dish needs a greater kick. I also got the pumpkin and courgette noodles with coconut and chopped Brazil nuts in a lime/ginger sauce, and the spiced almond cake, for takeaway. I had the noodles for lunch today and they are amazing due to the sauce. I could eat that ALL the time. The dessert is incredibly soft and crumbly with a tasty blend of nuts and spices. It looks like and has somewhat the texture of cheesecake but is WAY better. And oh yeah I had a smiling and helpful waitress (!!!!)

I got shocked to see this place given only 3 stars... In my opinion was one of the best vegan places I've ate!

And I am not really vegan ... The food is so tasty, the heart of artichokes are to die for!

I am not Vegan but a friend took me to this restaurant and I loved everything I ate. The food was so fresh and very tasty. It awakens taste buds I didn't know I had. I wish I had some recipes to cook like this. I will probably convert to Vegan if I can eat like this all the time. I felt so energised after eating the food in this restaurant. I want a cookbook. The chef was friendly and spoke to us.

Beautiful food, beautiful staff and clean hygienic friendly atmosphere. Food was absolutely delightful

Simply the best restaurant in London if you want truly healthy, delicious food made with love and care!

Excellent vegan restaurant, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the seitan strogonof is superb.

This has to be one of the worst meals I have had in London, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. It almost was uncomfortable to be sat there, the staff had good intentions but were all incredibly meek, as were the other customers. The food took ages, the place was aesthetically pretty drab and after about half an hour there I could feel the life energy being sucked out of me. Don't bother going here unless you are already miserable, in which case you will feel very at home. It was a relief to make it out of there alive :)

I went on a Saturday evening and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I have had in London. Two staff were not enough for a crammed restaurant. Even then they still kept squeezing people in by asking existing customers to squeeze up. The food took AN HOUR AND A HALF to arrive. I appreciate any restaurant can have a bad night, but we were not given any explanation or apology by the staff. In the end all tables were complaining about the long wait for food and no one had a smile on their face. The food itself was ok, nothing special at all and certainly not worth the wait or price. An oily salad was a particular low point. Maybe this was down to the strain of a busy night (although that is not an excuse). After all this, we were presented with a bill for nearly £50 for 2 people. There are so many better vegan/veggie restaurants in London. AVOID.

This is one of the best vegan restaurants I have ever visited.I can see a damning negative feedback here but the wirter doesn't even seem to know the difference between vegan & vegetarian cuisine. This is NOT a vegetarian restaurant, although by default all vegan dishes are vegetarian as well. I don't think this writer has ever coooked a vegan meal at home, else she woulld have known that how difficult it is to get the right flavours whilst cooking vegan. And right flavours that's what you always get at 222. She goes on to write "the bun huge & dry...and salad on the side boring". Lady you sound very constipated, do you ever get happy in life, talk about flavours if you really want to write.

The above review is unfair. I have had the same starter many times and it was anything but bland. To my mind, 222 has certainly the best vegan food in London and among the best in Europe. It also excellent value, unlike some other more pricey vegggie places which disappointingly can never make vegan puddings. The puddings and cakes at 222 are absolutely scrumptious, dairy substitute or not.

Really lovely food. I am a non veggie and I love the food at 222. This restaurant has been a great introduction for a non veggie meat eater like me, introducing me to new foods and really good flavours.

The food really is delicious and filling - also very experimental, so you are really getting authentic dishes. The ambience is great! I love 222!!!!!!!!!!!
