25th Ward

Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that venues remain open.
This City-based eatery, which opened in November 2017, offers a little slice of French-meets-British cuisine in unfussy surrounds. The exterior is a sleek black, leading into a multi-level dining space decorated in clean colour blocks of white, maroon and natural wood.
There are plenty of tables to accommodate a sit-down meal, or you can perch on one of the stools lined up against the modest marble-topped bar and sip on one of a selection of cocktails.
A look at the menu will reveal items such as pan-fried devilled chicken livers and baked camembert among the starters; while sirloin steak with garlic butter, beer butter haddock, and asparagus and cheddar tart sit amid the mains. The 25th Ward also cooks up a sizeable roast on Sundays, with a satisfyingly large Yorkshire.
As well as the cocktails, you'll find a full page of wines largely from Europe, but also South America, South Africa and Australia.
