This colourful Old Kent Road restaurant proves something of a hit with local Nigerians looking for a taste of home. There’s a choice of two dining areas: the smarter executive suite (which can also be hired for events) and the main dining room, which is less pristine but equally popular.
Diners come here to wolf down large Nigerian-style portions of cowfoot, spiced chicken gizzards, fish pepper soup, jollof rice and peppered snails. Tilapia with fried plantain, grilled chicken with couscous and salad, and tiger prawns in a chilli and garlic sauce also feature.
There's another branch in Hendon, and another back in Abuja, Nigeria, should you really get the taste for it.

Great place for a Nigerian treat, the Monica fish is superb, as is the suya. Service is good. Never had an issue with bad service here and I've been 5 times now.
This has been my 2nd trip to 805 Restaurant in this year. The experience was absolutely amazing. I've struggled to find a modern West African cuisine restaurant in London that reminded me of my mothers cooking. 805 has been my solution!
Went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. Very busy place which is a good sign. Service was a bit slow but probably due to being busy. Food was tasty and big in portion. Couldnt eat all and they were happy to provide doggy bag which was goo. Cost another pound though which was new to me. Would definitely go back. Nice joint. Well done. Keep it up 805.
Went into 805 on Saturday..it wasn't crazy busy but i must confess I had a great time. It was my little girl's Birthday..it was actually family friendly to start with. I'm a very fussy person when it comes to customer service and trust me they actually delivered the best. I mean it was a fun place to eat..the food was served quick, it tasted great and was affordable..seriously I couldn't ask for more. When we were leaving the customer service manager brought an 805 birthday gift bag for my daughter as it was her birthday...my heart melted..I am so gonna go back on valentine's day..I really can not wait! I had never visited the place before then but judging from what most of you are saying the place has really changed..if you don't believe me go and see for yourself.
.First things first,customer satisfaction in a business is very important and I am sure that is one of your aims as a restaurant , to ensure every customer is provided with the right proportion of food well cooked . I came into you restaurant yesterday , I ordered assorted mean and rice and almost all the meat I had wasn't cooked properly , and your members of staff seem welcoming but are very rude. If paying for my food I expect it to be cooked properly. Is either you re-assess the business as a whole or recruit new chefs, because I wasn't happy and I deserve some kind of compensation .The aims and objectives of the restaurant as a whole needs to be reviewed you cannot play music when peoples voices are louder than the music that is playing ... As restaurant you fail to provide appropriate customer service and by all mains my complaint must be heard by and authority.
I've been an 805 customers for years. But I stopped dining in there a long time ago and prefer instead to order takeaways because of the poor waiting service, the phenomenally long time it takes for food to come out and the many times I have been left disappointed when I have taken colleagues there. Even when you order t a keaway, it is not the norm to collect your food when they say it would be ready by. Having said that the food always tastes superb. It is without doubt one of the best West African restaurants when it comes to taste. I think if they improve the efficiency in the kitchen and the waiting staff, 805 can become even more appealling.
This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant: simply chaotic with no organisation and no management oversight to ensure customer service and quality. I went with a group of three and we were seated in the so called executive lounge where we had to wait at least 30mins for our drinks and an hour and a half for our food. When the food eventually came out they only brought out two of the three dishes we ordered. Dishes came out with no cutlery for which we had to wait another 15 mins. They completely forgot my dish which I received after complaining and waiting for another half hour. The rest of my group had already finished eating and there I was eating my dish at the end. The food wasn't even worth the wait as I have had as good if not better Nigerian food just a few minutes down the road. The meat in the Egusi soup was not cooked properly (cow leg was hard and chewy). All in all, I wouldn't recommend as it spoiled our night out! Do some research before booking, you can definitely find better Nigerian restaurants in London!
Simply abysmal! The customer service was chaotic and disorganised. I had gone there with a group of 24 and we were seated in the so-called “executive room” which really seemed like just another ordinary area to dine in. We had booked the seats for 6pm - most of us were seated by then - but the first plate of food did not arrive until approximately 8.45pm with the last person in our group being served an hour afterwards. The waiting staff repeatedly asked the same members in our group what they had ordered and still managed to bring the incorrect dishes out. Orders of drinks took ages to come even though we were sitting right next to the bar. My plate of food arrived on a chipped plate and I did not even get to finish the food as a waiter had taken away my plate without even asking if I had finished it. This is definitely a restaurant I would not recommend, especially if you have pre-booked seats for a large party. The food, however, was decent (but not worth the wait) and well-presented but management should consider abolishing their service charge policy in the future if their current quality of service persists.
