I was a bit dubious trying this place as I really didn't know what Eritrean food was even similar too.

Upon walking in the staff are really friendly, it seems to be the same people serving so I assume its family run. The waiter came and took our drink orders and then helped us through the menu, If youre new to Eritrean food I would recommend you go for a sharing platter with heaps of different types of food. There are two types of platters, either meat or veg. Both are really yummy and come with a lot of sour bread which you rip off and eat with the different heaps of food.

A word of warning! First off make sure you have washed your hands before you start as you eat with them (you can ask for cutlery) and second off, make sure whoever you go with likes to share. You can get a side plate but most people just get stuck in.

In the summer you can sit on the pavement as they've changed their front to have folding doors. Its definitely an improvement!

I have been here twice now and both times the food has been excellent each time. I highly recommend getting one of the large sharing platters (you can also get a mixed platter just for yourself if no one else wants to share) as that way you get to try some of everything. All of the dishes were consistently excellent. They also have a traditional coffee ceremony that I haven't tried myself but looks quite incredible.
