Al Parco

Walkers coming off Hampstead Heath could do worse than pop in here for a generously portioned, thin-crust pizza fresh from the oven. Al Parco is a small, unassuming outfit turning a decent trade amid a clutter of books and bendy lamps, and walls dotted with old photos of Italian screen legends. The back section is an odd extension that feels like someone’s conservatory, and overlooks a triangle of turf between the Heath and nearby houses. The pizzas are numerous – including a selection helpfully made without tomato sauce – and the likes of lasagne are available for diners looking to break the mould. When not twirling pizzas with commendable skill, the staff are polite and personable, if sometimes a little lackadaisical.

Far better pizza and service than the overpriced alternative round the corner Kalandar/Gusto

Consistently good pizzas with great service and reasonable prices. Outside seats are popular in warmer weather so get there early.

Lovely to sit surrounded by green plants, friendly Italian feel, good food - right next to the Heath, very nice place.

ok there is probably marginally better pizza out there but this place is a gem. Very family friendly, the staff with bend over backwards for you and has good peroni on tap It's very reasonably priced so all in all a superb little package
