Amanzi Tea

This modern-looking tea shop and café is one of two in London - there's a sister site now, over in Soho. Both take their name from the name for 'water' in Shona language, native to the Shona people of Zimbabwe. This branch – the original – specialises in all manner of different teas.

That means more than 100 blends of loose-leaf tea ranging from English breakfast and Earl Grey to to rare single-estate drops from India, Africa and China. Matcha tea is also available, alongside tea-cocktails, tea-frappés, bubble tea and a variety of chais.

Baked goods - including a good-looking range of cakes - also feature.

Venue name: Amanzi Tea
Address: 24 New Cavendish St

I do not drink coffee, and despaired of being able to enjoy that whole coffee shop experience with a huge range of exciting coffee to choose from .... until I found Amanzi Tea! What a treat for tea drinkers ... and what a mind blowing range of teas to choose from. I could go there every day for a year and have a different tea every day! The Green Dragon bubble tea is something else! And the Gunpowder tea was great for traditionalists. Cannot recommend highly enough for tea drinkers.

A fantastic cafe just round the corner from where I work. Serving all host of white, black and green teas, bubble teas, herbal infusions and delicious mate blends. My favourite is the daybreak late, an energising blend of mate with caramel flavours and almond milk. There are pastries and croissants on offer, and a few savoury snacks. The real highlight is the large downstairs area which is a lovely space for an intimate chat or a quiet space to do some work or reading. The staff are really friendly and helpful too.
