The first Italian vegetarian organic restaurant in London!


Head chef Pasquale Amico and his two cousins have opened a new restaurant called Amico Bio “Green Thinking-Better Living”. The first vegetarian-Organic-Italian-Restaurant in London.


The menu is all vegetarian-organic and the ingredients are from the family farm located in Capua, Italy. We offer a range of vegan and gluten-free dishes. Pasquale creates traditional Italian dishes using only fresh seasonal products.

Vegano Heaven!


Having just come back from a weekend away in Rome I could think of nothing better than choosing a vegan friendly Italian restaurant for my birthday dinner. So last Friday my very carnivorous friends and I went to the Smithfield branch of Amico Bio. 


The restaurant is a hidden gem, surprisingly tucked away behind Smithfield market, and is cosy and atmospheric, a perfect place to unwind with a glass of vegan wine after a busy working week. 


On Friday we had a wonderful evening and the food was enjoyed by all, even by my slightly dubious friends for whom a meal without meat is merely a snack. The menu itself is seasonal, authentically Italian, superbly vegan friendly, fairly priced and offers real uncompromising choice. We were able to share a large number of delicious antipasti, including a particularly memorable salumi platter. For my main I had pesto and ravioli which was served in a healthy portion and was fantastic. As a former cheese eater, I honestly did not feel that I was eating an inferior version of the standard diaryful fish. 


Amico bio is one of my most positive vegan dining experiences and most definitely the best I have had in London. Even if you are not a vegan or even a vegetarian, as per my carnivorous friends, the food is still inventive and delicious on top of the fantastic service and relaxing atmosphere.

As soon as we walked through the door at Amico Bio last night we came face to face with a tempting fluffy foccacia studded with plump red tomatoes...a sign for what was to come! This is a hidden gem on London's dining scene. Highest quality ingredients used to make food with love and flair. I particularly loved the gnocchi with rocket pesto and the homemade gelati at the end of the meal was as good as I've ever had in Italy. As a vegan, there were plenty of delicious options but this is simply, good Italian food that anyone, regardless of their dietary preferences, would enjoy.
