Gerard Coleman’s West Hampstead café not only sells high-quality chocolates, but it's also got a chocolate-themed menu, including waffles and sweet things. In particular, the signature hot chocolate is a highlight. There are gingerbread, mint, cinnamon and coffee-laced variations on offer, but plump for the artisan original: made with 70 percent Colombian chocolate cooked up with milk and cream, it’s smooth, rich and tastes a bit like Maltesers. There is a boutique in Chelsea and a concession in Selfridges, too.
