A french bistro founded by Franck Raymond, former head chef at Covent Garden's Mon Plaisir, which he named after his grandmother. Located a short stroll from Battersea Park, Augustine Kitchen provides a family-friendly environment in which to dine.
Raymond's menu is influenced by Evian, the place he grew up, with dishes ranging from onion soup and snails to pike mousse, cote de boeuf and duck magret. Creme brulee, profiteroles and sorbet line the dessert menu alongside a suitable array of cheeses.
Beer, cider, Champagne, soft drinks and a vast wine list are available to choose from, featuring wines mostly from France, of course, but also Italy and Spain.

One of my favourite restaurants in London. The food looks good, tastes good and the service is always fabulous. Plus it represents fantastic value for money in not only Battersea but the whole of London.
Amazing restaurant, attentive staff and fantastic food. The Augustine Kitchen is a great addition to Battersea's culinary scene. Its set menu is great value.
Truly excellent French cuisine and also moments away from Chelsea. This restaurant is an excellent addition to the neighbourhood. The lobster bisque and the rib of beef to share is the best that you will get anywhere either side of the channel. The staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere calming and relaxing. What also makes it stand out is the tributes to haute savoie with delicious cheeses and an excellent wine list. Highly recommended for a superb meal.
Visited this restaurant last night on the recommendation of a friend. We found the staff really helpful and friendly great service. The food was delicious I had the rib eye steak which was cooked perfectly we all had three courses and throughly enjoyed all the dishes. All in all a great experience already planning to go back!
Went here a couple of Fridays ago to try it out as kept passing it and read about it on a daily e-bulletin. The most wonderful service I have had in London for an age- the waitress did everything she could to make it help, including asking the chef if he could make some additional sauce to go with the main course, just because we requested it. The food was delicious - classical French food: onion soup, steak, magret of duck. The only let down was the decor, which felt a bit sterile. They need to warm the room up a bit with softer furnishings and dim the lighting. But all in all, a great local restaurant.
Horrendous experience at Augustines restaurant last night. Having chosen Augustines restaurant for a romantic evening with my boyfriend, we booked after reading such rave reviews.
We arrived on time for our booking. We were a little rushed to order by the staff, but we didn't mind that too much.
Our starters were lovely. We ordered the steak for two as our main. Disappointingly it was just unpleasant. Cooked medium rare as our choice, but very fatty and very chewy. It certainly wasn't a £50 piece of beef as the menu price tag had suggested. We left most of it. But ate the side dishes, as they were delicious.
When the waiting staff came to collect our dishes they asked if there was a problem with our steak, as there was so much left. We were honest and said that we didn't enjoy it, and were disappointed.
As any good waiter should do, they reported this to the kitchen.
The chef came to speak to us and was instantly aggressive.
He was incredibly arrogant and didn't give us an opportunity to explain why we didn't enjoy the dish.
The chef repetitively kept asking where he could go to get streak and suggested we were lying.
He then became very threatening and when I said I felt he was being very rude and that would write a review about our experience , his response was 'do your worse' he threatened us saying he could make this situation must worse for us, he then went to the bar to make a phone call.
I became very upset by they way he had treated us. I actually felt quite frightened. The waiting staff were highly embarrassed by his behaviour. What should have been a lovely romantic evening dinner was completely ruined.
Another table came over to the bar to speak to the chef, I believe they were regulars. The chef then loudly said 'and they complained about my beef, said it was the worse they had ever eaten' and pointed at us.
All of which was completely untrue, we had just quite simply said we hadn't enjoyed the meal. We are entitled to an opinion!
The whole experience was horrendous, and actually still can't quite believe we were treated this way. I certainly won't be going back to Augustines Kitchen, I actually feel quite traumatised by the whole situation.

It was not the first time we have eaten at Augustine Kitchen, and it will not be the last time. As ever, the food was delicious and the service was attentive. We all loved it and will be back soon.
Excellent restaurant, great atmosphere. We come regularly and to celebrate our birthdays, events, we are always treated like a queen here !
Lovely place, brillant chef, wonderfull service and amazing food, a little travel at Evian in France.
Went there for dinner around 20:00 and we were so lucky to get the last table. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! The atmosphere was also great and a perfect place to be with friend or familly,
Not a good experience for four of us on Saturday night. From the moment we were shown to the back room of the restaurant where there was a faint smell of drains. Two inexperienced waitresses were tending to about nine tables of about 26 people. A bottle of wine and a glass of champagne for my wife was ordered on being seated .... the tasteless glass of fizz turned out to be an expsensive small glass of sparkling wine - which we had to replace with a half bottle of house Champage at about £35.
My onion soup was awful - the consistency was of smooth thick gravy with little taste of onion sadly it needed a little more seasoning so I requested a pepper mill - unbeknownst to me she gave me a salt mill and in the slightly darkened room I didn't notice .. I now had a bad salty soup; the frois gras was good .... but a tiny portion. The main course fared little better - a sirloin steak was good but my coq au vin was very moderate with a poor tasting thick jus and my wife's bouillabaisse had a vey small amount of fish, undercooked potatoes and the two prawns had not been deveined - being offered the intestinal tract intact was fairly apposite I suppose! No vegetables besides potatoes were on the menu or served with our entrées.
The large table next to us had, what looked like, a family dinner which is always charming to see both in this country and more normally in the Mediterranean countries - sadly the predominantly very young behaved like it was a children's party at Macdonalds ...... at around 9pm we had to tell them to lower the decibels and stop running around sadly their parents were incapable of controlling their young offspring.
Because of the staff shortage no vacated table was cleared - when we left each empty table still had all the dirty gasses and napkins and the bar surface in the front of the restaurant that we passed on the way out looked disgusting with empty glasses and bottles.
Having read some of the reviews I have to assume, as we didn't see him, that the poor service and food was because Le Patron and chef, Franck Raymond, was away and another was in charge of the restaurant and kitchen but if this is the normal standard of this restaurant I doubt it will survive and indeed it doesn't deserve to.
