Bocaro was an accidental find on the way back from Victoria Park fireworks to get some warmth and vino. I was drawn in by the kitsch old wooden seats and cosy lighting. This place is perfect for a group of friends for dinner or for date night as they offer a variety of sharing plates where you’re not subtlety clawing for the last morsel because the helpings are of a normal size, hooray. Definitely go for the calamari and sausage which were both divine! These are then perfectly offset with a couple of glasses of house red...and bobs your uncle you’ve got a lovely evening on the cards.
Only pretty big downer was the wait time. Waiters almost seemed to avoid eye contact and the length of time just to be given a menu was almost uncomfortable, especially on a quieter Sunday night.
Great Italian restaurant in Bow that specialises in cicchetti. Tasty wholesome food and delicious cocktails . What I like about Bacaro is that I can pop in on my own and have a glass of wine and a plate of pasta at the bar, go there with friends or on a date. I love their calamari and highly recommend their apple & cinnamon Gnocchi!
