Very disappointed, I went to banana tree as I had a voucher to get a bit of the meal. Four of us went, it was packed and very loud could hardly hear each other talk (lip reading skills needed to be used). Took about 25mins for someone to take our order and then even longer to get our food. The food was fine, I wouldn't say it's any better than a Wagamama's. Then the bill came... wow,for 4 meals and maybe a drink each £120 (after the discount). I don't mind paying the money if it's worth it but it certainly wasn't worth it.

We visited early on Sat evening, at 5pm!  So we were served very quickly and I would say the food was not bad at all but their satay sauce was more sweet than it was nutty / hot.  The pad thai was very kid friendly.  My waitress gave me a combo meal rather than what i asked for so i got more than i bargained for...  Leave room for dessert!  The pancake and the rice pudding is DELISH!

This was my first visit to the Banana Tree chain and I was impressed.

The menu offers a good variety of meals from south east Asia which is a little different from the more common pan Asian offerings.

We started by sharing the sticky Thai wings which were so good that I was tempted to lick my finger and run it around the plate (I didn't)

After such a good start there was potential to be disappointed by the main course but we were not.

We went for the meal deal (makes sense) and had a beef rendang and seafood santan melay. Both were delicious and I have it on good authority that the rendang was authentic.

After a prawn cracker basket to start we were we we so full after all of this we had left overs.

For over £40 it was an expensive lunch but it served us for dinner too so I'm counting it as good value.
